Thank you for your interest in learning about refugees! We are excited for you to learn more about refugees, their journeys, and how you can connect with refugee neighbors. 

Engaging with Refugees: Cross-Cultural Training is a prerequisite for New Neighbor volunteers but is open to everyone, and will prepare you to engage with a refugee individual or family in Chicagoland. This training offers in-depth learning and activities to broaden your understanding of who refugees are and how they get to the U.S., as well as what help they receive when they arrive. You’ll also learn how you can get more involved. 

Some Cross-Cultural Trainings are in-person; others are held virtually via Zoom video conferencing. Please note the location when you register for a specific date below. For virtual trainings, the facilitator will send you an invitation with a link to join the meeting.
